Copenhagen Metro is helping promote talented Danish authors, poets and graphic artists by distributing their works at various Metro stations.
The project is a result of a competition held earlier this year, which led to the publication of 13 small booklets that are offered to passengers free of charge.
The booklets have been published in 300.000 copies, and they are also available for download.
Metro-Literature is produced by Copenhagen Metro in collaboration with the Italian initiative Subway Letteratura.

The petrol station Statoil has created a *bicycle nursery* to meet the needs of Copenhagen's ever growing bike culture.
Selected petrol stations now have small designated bicycle areas equipped with pumps, soapy water, sponges, paper towels and plastic gloves. Cyclists can also borrow a bicycle care kit with hex keys, oil and tire levers.

The service is free of charge and Statoil has used the occasion to add bike essentials such as patch kits and lights to its product assortment (not free of charge).

Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is running a series of creative workshops that allow children to design their own posters inspired by different themes.
Children - or adults for that matter - can decide to exhibit their posters in the museum or to bring them home in a specially designed poster tube that says "I designed my own poster at the Stedelijk Museum".

Bottle Boat is a DIY kit that can turn your empty shampoo bottles into small colorful sailboats.
The kit is created by Dutch designer Floris Hovers who came up with the idea after seeing his children playing with empty plastic bottles in the bath tub.
Bottle Boat ('FlessenBoot' in Dutch) is sold by Droog Design as a part of their accessory line 'Friends of Droog'.

If we were to create a city today- what would the financial system for cultural productions look like?
In Sweden, they have asked the question and come up with the crowdsourcing model Crowdculture.
Crowdculture is an online platform that allows people to create, select and fund cultural activities in Stockholm. To participate, people have to sign up and 'invest' 50 SEK (6 €) per month. Each individual investment is then leveraged by public funds.
21 projects have been submitted so far and 8 of them are now fully financed.
Crowdculture is designed to support relatively small activities. Initiatives include a documentary about lesbian lifestyle, a workshop created by young female palestinian refugees and a dance performance.

Freshly cooked food served from a temporary outdoor kitchen at the harbourfront in central Copenhagen.
The kitchen served just one dish (at 42 kr/5 €) and in two days, it managed to attract more people than most restaurants do in a week.

The event was organized by the organic online shop Aarstiderne (The Seasons) who occasionally show up in the physical world to organize food events.

The National Gallery of Denmark has teamed up with Roskilde Festival to facilitate a series of collaborative art events at the upcoming festival in June.
The biggest event, quite literally, is Museo Aero Solar - a huge solar-powered air balloon made of reused plastic bags.
The artwork is conceived by the artist Tomas Saraceno and festival goers can participate by collecting plastic bags and taping them together in small sections. The sections of various bags are eventually connected and formed into a big balloon that will float above the ground.

You can participate + win tickets to the festival by donating at least two (clean) plastic bags. Send your bags by post to the National Gallery of Denmark (or stop by in person if you are in Copenhagen) before june 13th.
The photos are from a previous event.
To win festival tickets (or simply participate for fun) send your plastic bags to:

The fashion/concept label BLESS (by Ines Kaag and Desiree Heiss) recently opened a new shop in a private apartment in Berlin.
The shop is located on the third floor in a typical residential street in Prenzlauer Berg.
BLESS collections are mixed with the apartment's interior and decor and some items are for sale, while others are personal belongings. The shop is looked after by various 'shop sitters' who get to live there in exchange for looking after the place. Currently it's occupied by French artist Cyril Duval.

BLESS Shop on German TV channel Cafe Trend
The shop is open to the public on Thursdays between 8-14 or by appointment.
