Going against the trend of high-resolution images, the Groovetube dynamically translates your TV channels into low-res aesthetics.

The Groovetube is simply a translucent plastic box that suction cups to the screen of your television. It has a grid of dividers inside it that diffuse the colors from your TV producing colorful abstractions.

yeah I took the site down quite a few years ago... The whole thing was driving me a bit crazy. I was building them in my loft on a shoestring and they got really popular, really quick. I went into debt to buy materials, packaging, patent... Then I got screwed out of a bunch of money by this guy in NYC named Ray Koh ( ID mag did a story on the guy ).. So I stopped making them and put the whole thing on the back burner. ( Where it has set since ) I have great ideas for the next generation so who knows maybe if I win the lottery I can invest in some tooling and get them back on the market. But until then people save your toilet paper rolls and glue together enough of them to cover your screen add wax paper and it sorta works.. It won't be as bright or clean as a groovetube but its better than watching the crap that they feed you on TV. I do have about 6 or so smalls left in my storage unit. email if your tv is small 13" or 15" mat@greasythings.com
